State Representative Marcy Toepel - 147th District

Marcy Toepel is a long-time resident of western Montgomery and a graduate of Boyertown Area High School.

Marcy worked in private industry for manufacturing companies, a construction company, and a home fuel provider. She has experience in administration, customer service, accounts payable and receivable, and inventory control. After working half of her career in private industry, Marcy was hired as a deputy to the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts in 1996, eventually being promoted to First Deputy. She was responsible for the day-to-day administration of the office charged with managing and processing filings related to criminal court proceedings.

In 2006, Marcy was recognized as the Montgomery County Court House Employee of the Year for her dedication and commitment to her professional responsibilities.

In April 2010, Marcy resigned her position as First Deputy Recorder of Deeds to run for state representative. A special election to fill the unexpired term of Bob Mensch through 2010 was held May 18th. Marcy won the special election and currently serves as State Representative for the 147th legislative district. She is seeking election to the two year term on November 2, 2010.

Contributing to the community and being of service to others is a value instilled in Marcy by her parents and one inherent in the character of western Montgomery County. Marcy has served her community as a PTA member and president, youth sports coach and official, and as a member of the Boyertown Area School Board.

Marcy and her husband Mark reside in Douglass Township and are the parents of five children and three grandchildren.
